Happy Tree Service of Austin is all about building relationships through hard work, integrity, and dedication to our customers. Here’s what some of them had to say about us.

A few years ago, we had several tree companies come out to provide estimates, and we ended up choosing another company simply to save a couple hundred dollars. They did a good job, and we had no complaints about their work. However, I still remembered how nice, kind, and honest Evan was when he came to give us an estimate. He took the time to explain potential tree diseases to watch out for and shared other important things we should consider when caring for our trees. He clearly knew a lot about trees, and his knowledge and professionalism left a lasting impression on us. This time, we decided to call Happy Tree Service without even getting estimates from other companies. We’re so glad we did! Compared to another crew we had hired in the past that seemed to come and go like a storm, the team at Happy Tree Service was much more careful and gentle with our trees. They were also polite, respectful, and friendly. They did a great job cleaning up afterward and left everything looking neat and tidy. Communication was smooth and easy from the very beginning, starting with the estimate, which made the entire process completely stress-free. Their pricing was also very reasonable. We’re planning to have the trees in our backyard trimmed next year, and we will definitely be calling Happy Tree Service again. It’s wonderful to find a company you can trust, and Happy Tree Service will be our go-to tree care company for as long as we live in Austin! Highly recommended!Posted on Google
Scott Duffin6 days agoI looked at one other tree service but ultimately decided to go with Happy Tree Service based on their positive reviews, and I was not disappointed! They made quick work of 7–8 large trees. At one point, I was watching out my window while working and was amazed at how they transformed and sculpted one of the trees right before my eyes. It was impressive to watch. The guy was like an artist! Everything turned out great, and I'm really glad we decided to go with them. If your experience is anything like mine, you'll be very happy with their work. Highly recommend!Posted on Google

After being turned down by 3 other arborists and despite a holiday weekend, Evan and the Happy Tree team showed how much they truly care about their community. Efficient communication and willingness to help turned a serious situation into a giant relief, and our tenants and property owners couldn't be more grateful. 🙏🏻Posted on Google

Tom MacMorran64 days agoFor a great job at a reasonable cost that combines a high level of professional knowledge and expertise, along with superb customer service, Happy Tree Service of Austin has my highest recommendation I was very pleased with my whole experience with Happy Tree Service, From their prompt response to my initial inquiry on their web site and Evan's subsequent visit to develop an estimate for the job. Evan is knowledgeable and was forthcoming with recommendations to achieve our desired results with the best outcome for the trees without attempting to oversell unnecessary services. His estimate was reasonable for the work needed. When I had questions about scheduling and eventual payment details while awaiting a date for the job, Bailey from the office responded to my emails promptly, professionally and courteously. Happy Tree Service requires payment immediately on completion of the work, which is reasonable, but the crew cannot accept payment. There is a 3% processing fee for credit card payments, a practice I disagree with. In my initial contacts with Bailey at the office we agreed that I could pay with an e-check mailed from my bank and she said they would waive the late fee, if that should happen. The day before the job was scheduled I received an email requiring a 50% deposit, which came as a surprise since it was not mentioned in the original proposal, and the only payment options offered were to allow them access to my checking account, which I never do or pay by credit card. Not wanting to delay the job, I charged the deposit, which upset planned management of my credit balance during the current billing cycle. I called the office and explained the situation and Bailey promptly refunded the payment and confirmed our original payment arrangement. I immediately set Happy Tree Service up as a payee in my bank's online banking, submitted an e-check for the deposit and called Bailey to let her know that the deposit was on its way. The crew appeared on the scheduled date, consulted with us to ensure we agreed on the appropriate limbs targeted for removal, worked efficiently, took all the necessary measures to protect the health of the trees and cleaned up all debris before leaving. In sum, a ten star performance.Posted on Google

Christie Black70 days agoI am very happy with the service I received from Happy Tree Service. I called the office, and Bailey returned my call promptly and set an appointment up for the arborist to come out to get an estimate. The arborist had an estimate quickly and was honest about a damaged tree that could not be cut back because of disease. The deposit was very easy to use from the email with the proposal. Once the proposal was approved and the deposit was given, an appointment was set up for the crew to come out. The crew did a great job and cleaned everything up nicely. When I had a question about the job, Bailey was quick to get an answer back to me. I would recommend Happy Tree Service. I feel they were reasonably priced and did honest work.Posted on Google
Samantha B71 days agoHappy Tree has been great to work with! Joel came out and provided an estimate within a couple days of my call, and was very patient with all of my questions. The estimate was reasonable, and I love that my trees don't have that 'freshly chopped' look I 've gotten from prior companies - they just look healthy and beautifully shaped.Posted on Google

Blake Crawford79 days agoWe had Happy Tree do extensive trimming on the oaks on our property. They did an excellent job in thinning out where was needed while maintaining the beautiful canopy of our mature trees. It was a true tree service as opposed to guys just attacking with a chainsaw. Eric L94 days agoWe recently had Happy Tree Service prune our 2 front and a single rear oak based on neighbor recommendations. All our trees were seriously over-grown but the crew made FAST work and did a great job cleaning up afterwards (painted cuts & collected trimmings/leaves). Joel & Evan came to do the quote beforehand and took the time to explain the process they'd take before scheduling the work (which took about 2+ weeks after the quote). Happy with the work and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.Posted on Google

The service team was on time and made quick and thorough work out of everything expected!Posted on Google
Jason Reichenberg112 days agoMy neighbors had used them in the past, so when I had a tree that was looking a bit sick, I called them and asked for an arborist to come out. They had someone out quickly, and confirmed the tree was dying and had to go. They sent someone out in the next few weeks to safely and quickly cut it down, then grinded down the stump. You can't even tell there was a tree there! Great service. Very friendly staff. I've now used them for tree trimming as well.Posted on Google

I appreciate his “conservative” approach to tree trimming and removal, and he was very thorough in explaining everything in his recommendations.Posted on Google
Daniele Van Den Bossche119 days agoHappy Tree Service Of Austin came out to my property twice. The first time was for a huge limb that fell on my house after a storm. They removed the limb off my house in a safe, professional manner without damaging my roof. Based on this, I asked them to come out and give me an estimate for my other trees. Their bid was priced better than other estimates I received. Happy Tree Service Of Austin did a great job and we will call them back out in the future!Posted on Google

Alexis Perkins155 days agoWe had a great experience with Happy Tree Service of Austin. After a storm, one of the three trunks of our red oak snapped and was leaning on another tree, creating an emergency situation because the broken section was hanging over a walkway. Happy Tree Service came out quickly, assessed the situation, and explained all of our options very thoroughly. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain how the tree’s root system worked, how the remaining trunks were balancing, and what could be done. They walked us through options ranging from removing and treating the damaged section to full removal, and they gave us their professional recommendation while still leaving the final decision up to us, which we really appreciated. After they wrote up the quote and we approved it, they came back the very next day to complete the work. They handled everything in a timely manner and did an excellent job cleaning up afterward. There had been a lot of storm debris and broken branches scattered along our driveway and yard, and they cleaned up even the small branches under the tree. This was our second or third time working with Happy Tree Service, and we’ve been happy with their work every time. We really appreciated how quickly they helped us resolve the issue, especially given the safety concerns. Highly recommendPosted on Google

My yard is very wild and natural. The owner of the company met with me to assess what I needed to do with my overgrown trees.while keeping the native Austin rustic feel. He gave me a fair price for the work I decided needed to be done. The workers were professional, polite, thorough, and cleaned up after the work was completed. Happy Tree Servie also carries insurance, and that is very important to me. Ruth Burke211 days agoThe Only Arborist Who Thought Outside the Box—and It Made All the Difference! I had a very large cottonwood tree (approximately 44 inches in diameter) that was located on my neighbor’s property but fell into mine, making it my responsibility to handle. The tree looked completely healthy from the outside—beautiful bark, leaves, and flowers—but once it fell, it was clear the interior was hollow and diseased. To make matters more complicated, the tree fell across a creek between our properties, creating a very challenging situation. I had six different tree companies come out and provide bids, ranging from $2,000 to $13,500. What truly set Happy Trees apart—and Evan, the owner and certified arborist—is that he was the only one who took the time to think outside the box. Instead of simply quoting a high price to remove everything, he suggested a much more practical and cost-effective solution: leaving the portion of the tree across the creek in place, since removing it would be extremely difficult and expensive due to the steep banks. I checked with Austin Watershed, and they confirmed this was perfectly acceptable. That level of thoughtfulness and integrity really stood out—he wasn’t just trying to make money, he was also trying to save me money. As an added bonus, the tree now provides a natural crossing over the creek, which has actually been fun and useful for both children and adults. In addition, since this is a rental property, I especially appreciated that Evan personally called me to point out additional damage to other trees on the property that I may want to address. None of the other five companies did that. They simply sent a price—often with little or no explanation of what they were even proposing to do. Evan’s communication, professionalism, and attention to detail made a significant difference. The work that was completed on my property was excellent. The crew was professional, thorough, and respectful of the landscape. They properly sealed the cuts on my oak trees, and everything looks absolutely beautiful. If you are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, honest, communicative, and truly acting in your best interest, I highly recommend Happy Tree Service of Austin.+0Posted on Google

ethan moorhead212 days agoVery fast, affordable, and easy to work with! We are new homeowners and have 6 old pecans in the new yards. Some of them had weird growth patterns and we just wanted to set the trees up for as long a life as possible. Evan helped explain what they needed, quoted quickly, and got the work done much faster than expected! And to my pleasant surprise, they didn't do too much; they took off what they needed to for overall tree health, but they don't look obviously/unnaturally amputated. A++Posted on Google

Jonathan218 days agoI had a great experience with Happy Tree Service. They came out for a free in person estimate, and I originally planned to have my trees pruned. Instead of just taking the job and getting paid, they took the time to explain that additional pruning would actually harm the trees over time by limiting sunlight. That level of honesty and professionalism is hard to find. They educated me on what was best for the health of my trees and my property, even though it meant not making a sale. I really appreciate their integrity and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy and knowledgeable tree care.Posted on Google

Overall, we found Happy Tree a good company to go with. The only bump that we ran into was mis-communication issues on what work needed to be performed - at the end everything worked out. We appreciate Evan's tree expertise and explanations on why they were recommending various work to be done on the trees. He was very thorough in his analysis and the work performed by the crew was great.Posted on Google
Jimothy DYSON286 days agoTruly excellent service from the beginning with Evan's appraisal of the health of the whole trees health as opposed to the huge limb that was dead and had split from the main body of one of my Hackberry trees and agree that no need to take down even a living junk tree so only removal of 15 foot branch was recommended. Quickly and timely an appointment date was given. On The crew arrived as planned and made very quick work of cutting branch that was located in a difficult spot and removed it to their bin in minutes and left surrounding area very tidy and gates locked to secure back yard in less time almost than I could walk back to the front of the house! Thanks for quick and great service!Posted on Google

They removed a tree where the roots were messing up our fence (yes we had coordinated w/neighbors-ce ter tree in pics). Out of the other tree companies, I felt most comfortable with Happy Trees and they had a fair competitive cost for their services. They did an excellent job and cleaned up well when the last company that did our tree removal a few years ago left so much debris it basically ruined our backyard. Happy Trees respected our space.
