I had a large Arizona Ash over the fence and neighbors house, I didn’t feel comfortable cutting it down. I googled “tree trim services” and called 3 different companies for bids to take branch down. I also did some home work to see who was going to be honest and who was out to make a quick buck, as I spoke with the COA arborist and he said “no permit needed, and if you did there is no cost for Arizona Ash”. I let all 3 companies know I have 3 companies placing bids. Sid tree service came out first, $650.00 then I asked each company specifically…”is there a fee for a permit to take this branch down”? Sid tree service said “that’s an additional $150.00 ” the second company wanted $400.00 I went to HAPPY TREE SERVICE web site and felt good about what Evan does. I called and spoke with him on the phone, made an appointment and he had to cancel, made appointment another day and he called at 4:02 pm on a Friday and said “On my way! ” at 5:15 pm he pulled in the driveway. I ask “man were you in south Austin” yes was the reply. Evan drive over an hour in rush hour traffic, I knew Happy Tree Service was going to do the job before he set foot on my property, I felt very comfortable speaking with Evan. So we look at the tree and he gave me a quote and then I asked him the same as the other 2 companies. “Does the COA charge a fee for a permit to take this branch down”. No, was the reply, Evan said he has been doing this for 20 years and only ever needed a permit twice. I told him another company wanted $150.00 for permit and $650.00 to cut and drop the branch. That company was trying to rip me off and probably anybody else who uses their service. I told Evan “I wanted you to cut and drop this branch before you ever set foot on my property , so I was at work when they came to cut n drop it, as I want to chip small branches and cut larger for fire wood. But I had turned the security cameras towards to tree so I could watch when because I was 25 miles away. Evans team did what I asked, cut n drop, cut n drop, cut n drop and they left. I called Evan and was ready to pay. Evan said “go home take a look at it and called me later” who in this day and age let’s you pay for something later? IF I EVER NEED TREE TRIM SERVICE AGAIN…..it’ll be a HAPPY TREE SERVICE day for me. You Reading this review, if you go with another company, well you won’t get the care for the tree that HAPPY TREE SERVICE does and you won’t get the expertise of Evan. GREAT JOB!!
